Good thing she has that Ugly Betty gig to fall back on, because Lindsay Lohan’s movie prospects are rapidly going the way of the dodo. After being touted as starring in two upcoming high-profile projects—a romantic comedy with Jack Black and a drama about the Manson Family—the actress needs to line up new work after being replaced in both films weeks before shooting was to commence, E! News has learned exclusively. And the spinmeisters are out in full force to portray everything as hunky-dory.

Alison White of producer Patriot Pictures tells E! News that Lohan is no longer a part of Black’s next film Ye Olde Times, a rom-com in the world of Renaissance Faire. But White says Lohan was not dumped. “We have just decided to go our separate ways. We currently have an offer out to another actor.” White would not say whether Lohan was being replaced for insurance, scheduling reasons or for her reputation for being difficult on set. “That’s all I know,” says White. The Black movie had been slated to begin shooting already, but is now set to start Aug. 18 in Detroit, according to White. Lohan is also being replaced as the star of the Manson Girls, in which she was set to play Nancy Pittman, a former follower of Charles Manson. The movie will start shooting July 21 in Los Angeles. The film’s producer, Brad Wyman of Junction Films, told E! News two months ago that Lohan had signed on to star and, despite her brushes with the law and stints in rehab, there was no problem in insuring her for the movie.

Lohan’s publicist tells E! News that scheduling reasons were to blame for Lohan not taking part in the films. “She never had a contract in place [for Manson Girls] and by the time something concrete came along, Lindsay had committed to other projects.” As for Ye Olde Times, Lohan’s publicist says, “Producers asked to put her on hold, but Lindsay couldn’t because she was going to be busy.” Lohan’s rep insists the star has a full schedule this summer already. Lohan, who recently shot a guest appearance for the Ugly Betty finale (a prelude to a multi-episode guest stint for next season), is signed on to star in Labor Pains, a new birthing comedy that will begin shooting in three weeks, and has been finishing up an album. She is currently shooting her leggings-line campaign and will be leaving next week for France to shoot a separate ad campaign.

Lindsay Lohan’s representative has dismissed speculation the actress was dropped from a film as other actors refused to work with her. A report on deadlinehollywooddaily.com said Lohan had been dropped from the Manson Girls film over other actors’ concerns. But Lohan’s spokeswoman, Leslie Sloane, said she would not be appearing in the film due to scheduling issues and other roles. “Unfortunately [the Manson movie] didn’t come together quickly enough, and she was offered other roles, which she accepted and is looking forward to doing,” Sloane told the Reuters news agency. Fans of the hit US show Ugly Betty are set to see Lohan in six episodes of the magazine drama. Sloane said the 21-year-old would also be appearing in a film comedy entitled Labor Pains. Lohan has not appeared on screens since the 2007 flop I Know Who Killed Me, for which she won the embarrassing Razzie award for worst actress.

I just got off the phone with her rep, who insists Lohan did not steal that fur coat or any clothing belonging to the New York City model accusing her of theft. “This is crazy!” says Lohan’s rep. “They are being paid for their interviews. I want that on the record. The bombing of Lindsay has to stop. She is in a good place right now. Why can’t everyone leave her alone?” Model Lauren Hastings claims that she has witnesses who saw Lohan earlier this year going through her closet and handing a bag of her belongings to a bodyguard during a party thrown by a housesitter at Hasting’s New York pad. And as you’ve probably heard by now, fellow New Yorker Masha Markova claimed that Lohan lifted her fur during a night out in NYC. But that’s not all. The rep is already shooting down an upcoming tabloid report that says Lohan had a fling two years ago with Bobby Brown’s son, Landon Brown. “They might as well print I had an affair with him, too,” the rep said. “They’ll print anything.”

A Los Angeles model claims mink-swiper Lindsay Lohan has a sticky-fingered history — accusing the “Mean Girl” of raiding her closet and making off with thousands of dollars’ worth of clothes. Lauren Hastings, 23, says the fashion fleecing happened last spring, when the model was out of town and her house-sitter threw a party that included Lohan. “Basically … my closets were emptied,” Hastings said in an interview aired on the TV show “Inside Edition.” Earlier this week, The Post published a series of stunning photos that showed Lohan apparently making off with an $11,000 mink coat belonging to Columbia co-ed Masha Markova. The student got her coat back three weeks later. But now Markova wants Lohan to pay for the unauthorized rental.

Troubled Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan has been dropped from the indie film The Manson Girls because no “name” actor or actress wanted to co-star with her, according to Deadline Hollywood. In March, Lindsay had signed on to play Nancy Pitman, a surfer chick who became involved with convicted murderer Charlie Manson. Production was set to begin in July, but Lohan was reportedly just dropped after her attachment to the project deterred A-list actors from signing on.

Lindsay, 21, recently made headlines for allegedly stealing someone’s mink coat at an NYC nightclub. Last summer, she was arrested for drunk driving and cocaine possession. A tabloid mainstay, Lohan’s career has stalled in recent years, due mainly to her bad behavior. Lohan’s next role will be on the small screen, when she makes a cameo appearance on the hit ABC show Ugly Betty on May 22.
